SA Spurs vs. OKC Thunder

My cousins live in Oklahoma and are naturally Oklahoma City Thunder Season Ticket holders (as well as Oklahoma State season ticket holders).....my brother lives in SA and is a Spurs ticket holder!  The two teams went to the Western Division Championship and the bet was on.....if your team lost you had to buy lunch for the other group.  Well.....The San Antonio Spurs lost....so my sweet brother hosted my OK City cousins for a wonderful lunch in beautiful Gruene, Texas! We ate at The Gruene River Grill....our favorite place in town! We sat on the deck and sweat our booties off in the Central Texas heat...but had a great visit with my Aunt Patsy, my cousins ~ Monty and Steve, and my brothers and Rob!
Matt had to pay (Thanks, Bubba!!)....Cousin Steve brought us all an Oklahoma City Thunder t-shirt! OKC is probably our 2nd favorite NBA team~so it wasn't too painful. We are huge Kevin Durant fans since he went to The University of Texas for his freshman year before joining the Thunder! Hook'em Horns!
Rob, Me, Steve and Matt sporting our new OKC Thunder shirts!
My cousin Monty, Me, my cousin Steve, and my "twin brother", Matthew!
It has been years since the four of us have been together....so we had to get a picture. These are my only 1st cousins and I love them dearly! After lunch...they headed to Corpus Christi to visit more of our family there....we had a great day! (I appoligize to my Aunt Patsy for not getting her picture, too!)

Easter at Onion Creek Club

We had the best time at the annual Onion Creek Club Easter Egg Hunt.  Amy and the girls came with their baskets.......we had an amazing time!
Taylor and Emily ready to hunt!
Last year Taylor had nothing to do with the Easter Bunny and this year she couldn't get enough hugs from her.....she didn't want to leave...she thought she might just stay with the Easter Bunny all day long!
 On your mark, Get set.....GO!!

Monica our club trainer...makes the best Easter Bunny....but I know it was hot in that costume!
TEXAS HEAT!!
 Checking out her Easter Eggs....
Emily is ready for the hunt....the older kids all spotted the golden prize egg before they began...so it was a mad dash for the GOLD. Emily still managed to get some eggs...next year we hope they hide the golden egg a little better so everyone gets a better chance of finding it without the stampede!
Happy Easter 2012!!

and Taylor just watched from afar.

Taylor found three purple eggs on her hunt.

 Emily before....
during...
and AFTER....with a basket full of eggs.
Mmmmm...snacks and door prizes, too!
The girls got sidewalk chalk and a jelly bean lizard.
Happy Easter, Ya'll!

Baking in October....
A delicious Halloween snack for candy corn lovers ~  like me!
Candy Corn Bark
Oreos - broken in to pieces
3/4 cup  pretzel sticks
white almond bark
candy corn
festive sprinkles
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Spread the broken oreo pieces, some candy corn, & pretzels on the bottom of the pan.
3. Melt the white almond bark in the microwave.
4. Drizzle chocolate with a spoon over the goodies in the pan - lacey pattern.

Top with candy corn and sprinkles.
Let cool in refrigerator until firm.
Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Emily as a UT cheerleader...Go, Horns!
 Taylor is BEVO!
Another neighborhood trick or treater ~ Lucky Walls! BOO!
Thanks to Eliza for bringing her over for a visit in her costume!
A couple of M&Ms ~ one with nuts / one without!
(Bogart and Lola were not excited about getting their picture taken)
These were our costumes for night golf at the club.
It was a chilly night...our shirts were HUGE..so they helped keep us WARM!
I came home and slept with a heating pad because my skin would not warm up.
The only picture I took...it was PITCH DARK...so no luck with photos.
We had a blast with our partners~ Perry and Barb ~ and came in 5th place.
Everyone agreed ~ I play golf better in the dark!!
(Guess I better practice for daylight golf!!)
